The sublime Peninsula Hotel, vintage 1928 and one of the finest Hotels in Asia.
Clearly as a long term resident of Hong Kong I am a little biased but I do think this is an absolutely fabulous Hotel and I am filled with pride whenever I walk through the iconic front entrance, it simply is magnificent and Michael Kadoorie of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels should be commended for his work in keeping this hotel at the top for such a long time.
I am a huge fan of High Tea (or Afternoon Tea) at the Peninsula Hotel from 2pm - 6pm daily, it really is a very special treat.... and this is despite the people who slam High Tea on Tripadvisor, they simply do not know the history of the Hotel in the context of Hong Kong.

One of these days I am going to hang out in the lobby of the Peninsula Hotel and just take pictures of all the people passing through from 8am to 8pm.
Over the years I have taken some great pictures of people in the lobby and for me it is the people that make a Hotel and this is my favourite image.... one day 4 absolutely gorgeous young ladies tottering on high heels made the lobby go silent. It took me a minute to realise I should be taking images of them!

There is something about the Peninsula Hotel lobby that makes it magnet for people who are well off and want to be seen.
Halloween in Hong Kong is pretty big in Hong Kong and I was in the Peninsula lobby on Halloween night in 2017 and took this image, it is by far one of the better set of costumes I have ever seen and I imagine very expensive.
...oh, Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year decorations in the lobby (and outside) are absolutely amazing.
Oh my golly gosh, the simply amazing Pagani Zonda Absolute - this is a custom made car and is rumoured to be the only one of it's kind in the world and it is in Hong Kong!... oh... and yes, this is my picture, talk about being in the right place at the right time.
